today is day 2 of peace and quiet...hudson returned to 8th grade at the middle school on tuesday(home school is a gift that i enjoyed for a year but i'm really excited not to use this gift this year! ) ...and mac drove himself to school on the first day yesterday! (and in my car!) definitely a new era at our house!
i almost don't know where to begin with an hour by myself...this is the first time in over a year that i have space and time without commitments, or people in the house. and it is the first time in two years that i am in the states when school starts.
for the past two summers i have had the joy and glorious opportunity, gift etc, to go to england and attend the wonderful, ecclectic greenbelt arts festival!
it has been my refreshment...an opportunity to absorb and learn rather than create and pour out!
greenbelt has given me hope, given me new ideas, new friendships and a passion for justice.
i really miss it...so here are a few photos from last year...and you can check out willzhead for an update or jonny baker. miss all you guys! have a cup of tea at the tiny tea tent for me! and give maggie and steve foster, karen ward, jonny and jenny and steve collins big hugs from me, in proper english fashion of course!
praying for great weather in cheltenham! and thanking god for time to just be.
We'll miss you too, Lilly. Maggi and Ben are staying here, with some more Greenbelt friends (did you meet Helen via Steve??) so the house currently feels like an extension of the racecourse. First installments of family (who are camping) and guests have already departed...and the excitement mounts with every moment.
Do, though, enjoy the peace of the house to yourself...and I hope that Hudson's return to school goes smoothly and happily for him.
