if you haven't made the leap into advent yet, it's not too late to start. there's a good article close encounters of the liturgical kind
found on christianity today on line that gives a little history of just how advent became a big part of the church year. and if you want to find a fun and easy way to add some advent devotionals into your life, try sacredspace
and check out the new advent calendar or advent devotion. both are excellent ways to help us slow down during the december craziness. and a special shout out to andrew seely! i finally downloaded firefox, so maybe, just maybe my links will finally work! and happy blogging sabbitical to andrew btw.
I look forward to the Advent season too, mostly for the way that it makes me slow down and reflect on Christ in a way that seems to slip out of my consciousness during the rest of the year (except maybe Lent).
Peace!

Precious Lilly. Thanks for the email the other day and thanks for continuing to hold me in your prayers. We'll have to catch up soon either by phone or email.
Praying for you and the fam this season.

Firefox is great, much better than IE. I have never really celebrated advent. I think my parents did it once or twice when I was younger and it seemed so boring. Maybe I will give it a try again sometime. I really love the SacredSpace website even though I haven't been there in a while.
