the saugatuck/douglas library is my usual internet cafe when i'm in michigan, but yesterday the wireless was slower than dial up, or christmas, or molassas in january, and i am so spoiled i just couldn't post under such conditions. they are having major technical difficulties at the library due to putting in a new road right next door...and the phone service and internet were not even working during the first half hour of our library visit. i think the work crew has cut their lines at least 6 times in the last month! yuck!
today i am in saugatuck at the uncommon grounds coffee shop...with much faster and efficient wireless, checking email and getting a quick post in while the guys are grabbing a burger across the street.
rob and hudson made it to the cottage about 10pm last night after driving through a monsoon in indiana.
hudson is now on spring break and he and i'll be up here through next friday.
sadly it's a quick trip for rob, he'll be back in cincy on tuesday so mac can start school again. really wish we could just let mac drive home alone! ...hum..maybe next year.
speaking of school, we had a fun road trip to the BIG BLUE of Michigan on wednesday. mac has been sporting his new sweatshirt for the last two days and i now am the proud owner of a university of michigan rubber duckie! everyone should have one!
we had a great tour. all the students were mac's age and from out of state...we walked for miles and got the a glimpse of college life in the great state of michigan...i'm not sure it was what mac has pictured as his college home, but it's good to get the ball rolling.
next up will be the southern tour sometime this summer.
anyway, hope you all are having a great weekend. i'm rooting for LSU and George Mason!
looking forward to the final four even though the tarheels are home in chapel hill. but not the women!
go heels in the women's final four!
hopefully i'll see more michigan friends this coming week and make a pilgrimage to mars hill for church tomorrow.
So what would Mac major in? Where else is he looking?
