happy easter! today in looking at the gospel of john...john 20 to be precise, we looked at jesus as the beginning of the new creation...the second adam...bringing in the new garden...
mary magdalene mistaking him for the gardener, post resurrection was really john's way of reminding us of genesis and reminding us of the fact that now that jesus has conquered death, ALL THINGS HAVE BECOME NEW! the kingdom of God really is at hand and the new creation is at work here on earth!
the DEATH BED had become a SEED BED for new life!
and that's really what jesus is calling each of us to...
he is calling us to see life in the midst of death
he is calling us to plant seeds in the midst of pain
to see places that are death beds, as places where beautiful things can grow and prosper!
so what does the new garden look like in your neighborhood, in your life?
what is the gardener planting in you this easter season?
what is the new gardener asking you to bury so that seeds can grow?
do you have old habits, old labels, old dreams, that need to be buried, to be planted in the death bed
of the tomb, and be resurrected to new life in jesus?
where do you need to die in order for new life to happen?"no new life can come without death" rob lewin
what do we need to let die in order for new life to begin...in order for resurrection to happen?
23 Jesus replied, “Now the time has come for the Son of Man[a] to enter into his glory. 24 I tell you the truth, unless a kernel of wheat is planted in the soil and dies, it remains alone. But its death will produce many new kernels—a plentiful harvest of new lives. 25 Those who love their life in this world will lose it. Those who care nothing for their life in this world will keep it for eternity.
today during worship, we planted seeds in the tomb...seeds in the death bed
we expect that these will grow
that new life will come from death
that resurrection will and does happen
on a daily basis
because HE IS RISEN, HE IS RISEN INDEED!
Hi Lilly...Thanks as always for this. I've nominated you for a "Thinking Blogger" award...a bit of nonsense, of course, but one that should let you know how much your writing is appreciated. The info is over at mine, if you want to visit.

It was great worshiping with you and the rest of the community there on Easter! The death bed to seed bed has motivated Spencer (6) to plant a garden - he wants to see how Jesus brings life - turning the seeds into plants with fruit and flowers that will remind us of the life he brings all through the year.
Blessings!
Thanks too for the directions home - we did make it.
