Via Crucis :: Immersion

Via Crucis :: Immersion begins April 9, 2006, 7:00 - 11:00 PM at St. Elizabeth's.  Aradhna leads us into this journey with a benefit concert to fight child prostitution in India.  Via Crucis :: Immersion is an experiential Stations of the Cross.  Via Crucis is based on the 14 traditional Stations of the Cross ...remixed.  Our expression of this ancient Christian practice will be multi-sensory, multi-denominational, multi-layered, and multi-media.  Via Crucis :: Immersion is a pilgrimage.  A journey into the heart of God.  It is an immersion into the suffering of Jesus and a discovery of our own brokenness.  It is Christ's passion.  Participation in the Stations likewise has the effect of entering into our own suffering and the pain of those around us.

Aradhna will be playing a meditation concert of yeshu bhajans in the Hindi language in conjunction with Via Crucis at the beginning of the week.  The group captures the beauty and dignity of India's bhajan devotional melodies with music that blends east and west.  Artwork on life in India by both local and Indian artists will be displayed and some of it will be for sale.  Aradhna CD's and Indian snacks and chai will be sold in the Speckled Bird cafe across the road.  All donations will be much appreciated and will go to Restore International for the set-up of a rehabilitation home.  Restore International are an organization committed to rescuing and rehabilitating minor girls forced into prostitution in India.
